Look, if you make or release music with computers, laptops, software, effects, and synthesizers it’s okay to embrace the manufactured, cold, clinical, and robotic. You don’t need to convince me that your special music really is human, warm, and emotional. In fact, just spare me the rockist bullshit already. It’s crazy how often I run into this crap. And this goes for critics, too....

WatchAndy Rooney’s segment on this past week’s 60 Minutes is especially pointless, loopy, and ornery. Highly recommended and good for a guffaw.
Q: For People Who Like Life Without Buildings
The music the instrumentalists play in this band is beautiful. A lot of it reminds me of The Sea and Cake. And I like the idea of putting the punky, yelpy girl on top of it. But do you find any of the singer’s phrases or melodies memorable? So: Does the idea take precedence?
